Go to a Museum

Sightseeing in New York would not be complete without a visit to a museum. The best part is that they are all indoors, so you don’t even have to worry about the weather. Some of the most famous museums in New York City include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of the City of New York, and the Guggenheim Museum. You could also go to the Museum of Natural History, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art. They all host some spectacular exhibitions and galleries, which will offer you an incredible experience in the city.

Go Shopping While Sightseeing in New York

New York is one of the best shopping capitals in the country and maybe even in the world. Take a break from the sightseeing in New York City and explore one of the many shopping streets or malls that Manhattan has to offer. There are a lot of indoor malls in the city that you can take advantage of during a rainy day. Go to Macy’s in Herald Square, Bloomingdales, Bergdorf Goodman, or the Shops at Columbus Circle.

Go Rock Climbing

New York City is home to some of the best rock climbing gyms, so you should definitely take advantage of a rainy day and get your climb on. It is not only a great exercise but also a lot of fun. You can go on your own or even take a class. Brooklyn Boulders has 22,000 square feet of climbing space. Every visitor gets a 15-minute crash course on climbing basics. Another great place to go rock climbing is at the Chelsea Piers Sports Center. The facility offers 11,000 square feet of climbing walls and various classes. Finally, check out the climbing gym at the Manhattan Plaza Health Club. This climbing gym is in Hell’s Kitchen. First-time climbers can take a beginner’s crash course in belaying or bouldering.
