6 NYC Movies In Central Park Filmed at Bethesda Terrace

Some of the most recognized NYC movies in Central Park are shot in the heart of New York City. The park has been the most common setting for many great films, and over 100 movies have been shot here. Location managers have sought after the unique landmarks and hidden treasures within the park to include in blockbusters like The Avengers to romantic comedies like Enchanted. One of the most popular park attractions is Bethesda Terrace, once called The Water Terrace, where you’ll find the iconic Bethesda Fountain. The bronze, eight-foot statue designed by Emma Stebbins in 1868 depicts a female winged angel touching down upon the top of the fountain, where water spouts and cascades into an upper basin and into the surrounding pool, and is now a recognizable backdrop to some of your favorite NYC movies in Central Park.
