Bloomingdale's Highlights | TopView Sightseeing

Location: Bloomingdale's 59th Street 1000 Third Avenue 59th Street and Lexington Avenue New York, NY 10022

It all started in 1861 when brothers Joseph and Lyman G. Bloomingdale began selling hoop skirts in their Ladies Notions' Shop on Manhattan's Lower East Side. The pair were sons of Benjamin Bloomingdale, a Bavarian-born salesman who had lived in North Carolina and Kansas, and settled in New York City. In 1872, the Bloomingdale brothers opened their first store at 938 Third Avenue.

Today, their flagship store at 59th Street and Lexington Avenue is among the top 10 most popular shopping destinations for visitors in New York City! Whether you're from out of state or overseas, traveling alone or in a group, the Visitor Center located on the first-floor balcony of the 59th Street and Lexington Avenue store will help make your shopping experience easy, memorable and fun.

Some of the services offered include: translators, personal shopping assistance, coat and package check, hotel package delivery with minimum purchase of $250 or more and multi-lingual store directories. Visitors are also eligible to receive one signature gift with a $300 same-day receipt.
