Apollo Theater

Location: 253 W 125th St, New York, NY 10027

The Apollo Theater is one of Harlem’s, New York City’s, and America’s most iconic and enduring music halls. Many of the world’s greatest musicians and entertainers have graced its stage, giving it a starring role at the epicenter of American popular culture.

Explore the legendary history of the Apollo Theater and gain behind-the-scenes access to the legendary venue. The “Historic Tour” connects the past, present and future of this famed venue. The tour ends onstage where you can touch the Tree of Hope. And if you have the heart, you may be selected to perform on the world-famous Apollo stage.

Tours are offered only to groups consisting of 20 people or more. Individuals or smaller groups may join a tour that has already been scheduled. Please call in advance in order to join a tour. Alternatively, you can visit the Apollo on Wednesday nights for “Amateur Night.” Amateur Night at the Apollo is one of New York’s most popular live entertainment experiences, attracting performers and audiences the world over.

The classic competition is known for its notoriously “tough” audience, gleefully deciding who will “be good or be gone” to win the grand prize. Who will be the next Ella Fitzgerald, James Brown or Michael Jackson? At Amateur Night, you decide.
